Matt was 11 years young when he first deceided to take on photography as a hobby. It was a 4-H project that brought him into his love of taking pictures. He had a box camera given to him and it all started there.

Growing up in Northwestern Montana on beautiful Flathead Lake gave Matt all of the opportunities to photograph the outdoors. Matt gained many skills and took photos through many types of cameras. In the early 1980's he started shooting photos with a 35m, producing both color and black & white images. As the digital photography era was introduced he took on his hobby with an updated camera.

Matt's love of the outdoors has a great influence on his passion. He always has his camera wherever he goes, be it to-and-from, work or vacation. Matt loves using natural light to enhance his photos. "I love outdoor photos as the light provides vibrant contrast, subtle shades and deeper depth", Matt says.
